Brad, after blowing the Fel Pro 1009 out on the dyno my 527 bracket motor with 12.8 to 1 compression using 108 octane race gas I decided to change the head gaskest out on my 518 pump gas motor when I put the 440-1 heads on it. I had 1009 on the 518 and they look fine after a lot of reuse and abuse, they where squished out into the cylinders a tiny bit so I decided while it was apart to change them. I had sets of Cometics, Mr Gasket MLS, Fel Pro 8517PT, Fel Pro 1009 (Fel Pro 8519PT EDIT)and several sets of SCE Copper gaskets in stock that would haave work on the motor
I selected the 8519PT (edited the proper part number)
The set I measured has a 4.480 bore across the wrist pin area in the center of the bore, I lost a little bit of compression versus using the 1009 but I didn't want to take a chance of having the 1009 blow out again, regardless of the reasons
the 527 and the 518 have bores of 4.375(low deck 518 motor) and 4.380 in the 440 block 527 C.I. motor
