no need on the oil pump unless there is a problem with the one in there,

under the valve cover it should have big 360 cast into the head

you can find the cast # under there also

it on the bottom side of the head also when its off you can see it

587/308/XXXX there are a few cast # for the 360 heads and most of the later ones are just as good as early ones

#308s are supposed to be the best flow on sb heads since the x heads on the 340 308s are sought after for sure but a lot are cracked too

i run the 587 on my roller cam 318

best bang for the buck is up the cam to a cam that works good with low comp ratio and headers

I have swaped a few of the closed chamber swirl port #302 heads thats on roller cam 318s to a stock 360 to get the comp up and give it a lot more torque but its limetd on high revs cause of the small vales and small ports/runner

makes a nice work truck engine and does good in the 4x4s

another good upgrade thats fairly cheap is to get a stock high stall torque verter from a local tranz shop for around $120

that will give it some pep and be lot more fun than a low stall driving it

that was the best thing I did when I got my 85 truck and went roller cam in it the HS sure woke it up

what did the combo come out of?

whats it going in?
