I would suggest the comp 901-16 springs

they drop on with no machine work

use stock retainers

use stock seals

and can be swaped with head on the engine with a cam swap

good up to .500 lift

they will work with all the SB lunati cams

and mybe a few others

just compair the spring rate to the cam manufacture recomendations of spring rate for the cam





The only stock small blocks that came with a roller chain were the 'Premium' truck engines and the High performance cars. the rest had flat chains and most had the plastic gear gear that likes to strip off at higher mileage. Stock small block valve springs like I said above are pretty wimpy, use springs recommended by the cam company. At least to the recommended rated for the cam. do it right the first time.
