Gateway 2009 Street Car Shootout Series FINAL STANDINGS!

This compilation of results reflects the 2009 Street Car Shootout Series, events of which were held each Tuesday at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois. Points toward the 2009 Street Car Shootout Series Season Championship are awarded on the basis of five (5) points for qualifying in the Super Sixteen field with one (1) bonus point awarded for qualifying in the top four positions. One (1) additional point is earned for each round win during eliminations. Ties are broken by (1) the earliest date upon which the final point total is earned, (2) quickest elapsed time recorded during the current SCSS season and (3) fastest speed recorded during the current SCSS season.

The top three point earning drivers in the 2009 Street Car Shootout Series, (from left to right), were second place finisher Curtis Paulfrey, Champion Tim “Moose” Mallicoat and third place finisher Ray Arthur. All three were awarded trophies while Mallicoat also received the SCSS champion’s leather jacket and a 2010 season “Gold Card” from Gateway International Raceway.




Tim “Moose” Mallicoat, the first three-time SCSS Champion, qualified his naturally-aspirated 1968 Chevy Camaro at every race and lost only one round of eliminations during the entire nineteen-event season. The Collinsville, Illinois, racer now has forty-three victories in a record fifty final rounds and carries a lifetime win percentage of 90.10% in one hundred one rounds of competition.





Curtis Paulfrey qualified his naturally-aspirated 1968 Chevy Camaro at every one of the nineteen SCSS events.





Ray Arthur, finished in the top three positions for the third consecutive year with his nitrous oxide-assisted 1967 Chevy Camaro and qualified at all but two SCSS events. .
