I'm using a CH28 on my '62 Sport Fury convertible. It has a more or less stock 440 with a 280-480 cam. I'm using two Edelbrock 500's with progressive linkage. I'm very pleased with the set-up. Admittedly there are lots of single four set-ups that would out perform the 2X4's. But my car is a driver/cruiser not a race car. The 2X4 set-up gets lots of looks and comments at cruises.
