If indeed 'sloppy tolerance' hyd lifters are part of the problem,
temporarily substituting 50W motor oil and seeing if the noise at idle goes away on a fully warmed up engine is another experiment worth doing,
but one should go back to the recommended SAE viscosity oil right away,
especially if there is MDS on the 5.7 engine.

About 18 to 24 months ago
Chrysler's press release said that the new V10 Viper hydraulic lifters were redesigned, lighter weight, and capable of higher rpm operation without 'pump up'

If the 2003-2007 5.7 Hemi factory hydraulic lifters are part of the 'Hemi Tic' noise problem
it would be an interesting experiment to see if new V10 hyd lifters could be substituted, and whether they might improve things.

I would also like to know if those 2008 V10 hyd lifter would substitute for 1995 Magnum 5.9 v8 lifters.
