Forget the battery............install an alternator and avoid all bs affiliated w/racing w/out one.

last time i tryed running the alternater i had way to many volts and fried two rpm tacks.whats the best way to hook it up.do i need the alternator regulator or can i run without.

You can run a later model alternator with an internal regulator, I just put a Powermaster on mine.

What part# on the powermaster.I'm doing a search man them things are high dollar.

Powermaster 74191, it was $146.95 at Summit. It came with a dyno sheet saying it put out 60+ amps at idle and I think 78+ amps at cruising rpm.

A friend mentioned to me that these alternators can take higher rpms then the types you get in a regular parts store
