Normal. My 727 putters around at 1500rpm @ 30mph. Why do you think you'd need to wind it out any higher? Even my 4cyl 2.5 TBI with a 3sp torqflite fwd trans shifted at around those same speeds. So long as it downshifts when you nail the throttle it's fine. Also when I go full throttle mine winds itself out to 5000 before it shifts on its own.



Ummm, not to try and start something here, but I think what DaytonaTurbo was saying is "Why do you think "you would" need to wind . . . ." "You'd" is "short" for You Would.
