drill and tap the back of the pivot shaft and bolt and put a washer on it so the LCA can't off..I thought you had done that by your first post.the LCA will move up and down free..If you weld it it will not...it realy is not going to move that much anyhow..never-seize..on everything there would be good..This has been talk about here before and turns in to a pissing match about it..some of us racers have got together and held a LCA in our hands..and talk about it. for a race car you need a free moving front end..welding makes it very stiff. and not good for a drag car.
I under stand on the headers LOL I got a BB dart !

But with torsion bars, the socket and the LCA pivot as a unit because of the preload that is placed on the socket by the adjusting bolt. The movement is with the bushing and the torsion bar itself. With no torsion bars, I would think you'd have to drill and tap the back of the pivot shaft and bolt the LCA socket to the pivot, which would hold the socket solid. Then the LCA would constantly rub against the socket as the suspension cycled.

I'm really just thinking outloud though. I'm really just trying to free up some header space for my BB 66 dart build.

the way Jamie told you is the way I did mine several years ago and I have had no problem's doing it that way.
