If you think a V8 is going to be an option in other trucks, it won't be for long. At least for half tons anyway. My new brand C work truck has a turbo 4 and it gets along as well as the 6.0 the 3/4 ton had before it. Only thing I dislike, well specific to the 4, is the turbo whine, makes it sound like an 18 wheeler. This ain't my first turbo motor, but it is the first to be noisy like that.


Actually, GM has developed a new small block V8 specifically for light trucks because they understand the need for cargo/towing capacity.

A fairly useless article. No mention of what they might be going into. Such as 3/4 tons and larger perhaps? Which would match my claim. Not too much serious towing being done by half tons, mostly they are show poodles.
