I had my rear drum crack almost all the way through to the center after getting deeply grooved, the rear band lost at least half of its friction material and at least one of the front clutch frictions broke - I found a big piece in the pan and then halfway up the pickup tube. The thing made it past 130k from the factory with the last 25k from me driving like an idiot, so I'm not complaining about the $200-some in wrecked hard parts I've found so far (though I am not super keen on the scored-up nose on the converter & what new TCs cost these days )

I found that the surface on the output shaft is a little bit rough around where the support was riding. Nothing I can catch a nail on, no visual grooves or gouges, but not as smooth as the rest of the shaft either, so I'm not super confident it won't leak with a new output shaft bushing. How could I best clean it up at home?
