Legislating change is always suspect and I'm sure there is a lot of money being provided to our leaders to make sure we convert from millions of small carbon emitters on the road to fewer very large carbon emitters. At least mining the rare earth metals for batteries keeps children in poor nations employed so we can feel good about that.

A lot of that will be coming from northern Ontario Canada. They have a business minded leader that has Brampton and Windsor Chrysler plants locked in and they're saying entirely new towns will be sprouting up in the north to support the new mines. Tesla is even in talks to build a plant there. Chrysler is building 2 new battery plants, one in Ontario with LG and one in Michigan with Samsung I believe. Windsor will supposedly be building the new charger/challenger and Brampton is slated for new product as well.
