Use the front segment of the leaf springs to control the pinion from rising towards the floor during launch and acceleration. A pinion snubber is a crutch for weak leaf springs.

Trim the rubber so there is no metal to metal contact. This will be a challenge on a lowered car but if it's still hitting you may need stronger springs and or shocks.
