As you already know the only positive way to find out if you have enough fuel delivery is to be able to jet it rich enough to slow the MPG down in the 1/4 mile shruggy
I've seen a bunch of race cars that had enough fuel delivery in 1st and 2nd gear to go fast to the 1/8 mile and then run out of enough fuel to go as fast as it should have in the 1/4 mile work Once they fixed the fuel system they all went quicker and faster in the 1/4 mile up work
