If he wires in an MIL it will stay on as the PCM is looking for info from the auto trans that is no longer there. I'm fighting the same problem in my Durango and have decided to just bite the bullet and buy a manual trans PCM. Seems I recall reading that one of the codes causes it to go into limp mode? I know if I wind mine up it goes into fuel cut a little over 4k. Other than that and the MIL on, it runs fine. up
