We have 4 Ferd Ecoboost trucks in the fleet where I work, all 4-door shortbed 4x4's and they get worse mileage per gallon then my 2015 Ram 2500 longbed 4x4 5.7 Hemi! The Dodge half ton diesel does get great mileage, if you can afford one and the $160 oil changes...
