I have no problem with the early stock design, however I have had experiences where a foulup in the mechanism has burnt up a unit.

The dilemma I have now is this. I am building a maxie car for a customer and I already have a fully done late trans that is ready to go. As Wayne stated, if I wanted to go back to the stock setup I will need to find a 65 BB unit, and start the build from there. This is a car designed for FAST, so quite a bit of work is involved to get the trans "just right". It would just be easy to use this "dialed in" later trans than to start from scratch. Not to mention the cost savings involved with not having to get another tranny and set it all up.

If anyone has any real world experiences, I am all ears.
