Automakers worked more than one shift, Joe was right handed, while Andy was left handed and had more of a slant with his markings , Sam was taking a break most of the night. Take your pick for the correct markings if any are really correct.
my opinion is this on markings: if you have no documentation[pics on tear down] and some what of an idea what markings are needed[provided none were missed, or frank just didn't care and didn't bother to do his job marking as was needed], then do not "copy" a picture in a book, just use the same paint color and mark in your own style as if that was your job at that time in history. just do it once. thick, thin, heavy, light, however it comes out will be ok. probably be as correct as anything out there. and if you miss something, well maybe "you" was out goofing off or taking an extra long lunch that day..........
