I'm looking for a new valve body for my 727. I'm keeping the forward pattern. I'm looking for a manual/automatic set up.
"Manual/automatic" is a marketing term, even a bone stock VB is manual/automatic.
Rather than replacing the VB, why not modify yours with a Transgo TF-2? It'll work as good or better.
I humbly disagree with this..... I had a TF-2 Kit in my 727 for a few years. It still relies upon the throttle pressure linkage to control varying fluid pressure.
And others don't? Any VB that is "automatic" relies on throttle pressure to control the shift points. The OP wants the automatic function.
Mine used to hold a gear even after I had shifted. I had to back off the pressure linkage when I was at the track in order to get it to respond to my shift input consistently, but then had to adjust it back up for it to work correctly on the street correctly.
That's a problem with the setup, not the shift kit's fault.
