The base is different and a simple explanation is it is missing a chunk around the hump, as Frankenduster found out you can cut it out of the way but it's not correct although carpet can be fitted to cover it. Originally a 4 speed console had a fiberglass or poly cover/bulge over the cut out for a cleaner look/more structure under the carpet.
