If you stay out of the top classes and don't try to outrun all the big dogs, stock can still be relatively cheap to run. My buddy Mike Jeffrey holds the national record in V/SA and finished 2nd in Div. 5 in a car you could pretty easily duplicate for less than $10K. In a land of $100K+ A/SA cars that is dirt cheap fun. The only time the motor has been apart in the last 2 years was for teardowns.
