You don't think all that rust going thru that poor pump didn't shorten it's life? I know you had a filter in front of the pump but the rust still get's to the pump. Been there.
I agree, I always put a filter before and after the pump, but then still its not a 100% guarantee it'll keep the stuff out of it.
