Back in the early 70's I bought a original super shifter after going to one of Dick Landy's clinics that he had at a local dodge dealership. At that time he had a super shifter in the challenger that he brought to show. I had a 68 roadrunner that was a street/strip car. The next day I ordered the shifter. It came with the L bracket that raised and set back the shifter into the car, major cutting was required. The shifter did not come with a reverse lock out, that came later , it was just a side plate that you could move up and down with a piece of threaded rod and a red round ball on it . After the roadrunner I put the shifter in a 63, 64, plymouth and then the 67 barracuda. I don't remember using the L bracket in the 63, 64 but the barracuda did not need it. Some cutting was required on the crossmember and floor towards the back of the original shifter hole. The proper shift bracket was needed to rotate the shifter to work.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
