MuuMuu there are a ton of small block combos you could build, but bang for the buck it is hard to beat a warmed over 360 for a street car.

If the budget is a little bigger a 408 with some cylinder head is a fun way to go.

But it is a slippery slope when it comes to how much is enough when it comes to go fast stuff.

What is this thing you call a "budget?"

I knew there was something different about the 273/318 blocks vs. the 340/360 blocks. I was just curious what that difference was.

I've talked to a couple members here and FABO and it definitely seems like quite a bit of work to get a 273 to go quick on pump gas. Even if built to D-Dart specs or a little better that only puts you at about 300 hp which is more easily achievable with any other small block.

A guy on FABO is building a mild 408 or 410 with turbos and is expecting to make 700 hp on 91 octane... Is that fast enough?
