I have a 318 block that is 4.070 bore and when you tap on the cylinder walls they sound like glass, it was a running dirt track engine 12.5 compression with a rod knock when I picked it up

I am scared to re assemble it, I bet a 273 at that bore would have huge holes in the cylinder at that bore.
