I've built them both and wouldn't use either in a race application because of the gear ratio's, converter choices, parasitic drag and/or weight. Street use is fine.

The 545 comes in with a dry weight of a 175lbs and the 722.6 right around the same weight as a 727.

I run a 545 in my truck and rebuild it every 100 passes or if and when the clutches burn up before that.
