you have to remember not all factory panels were installed with the blueprint specs as designed. also, the tolerances were not even remotely close to todays manufacturing techniques. with that being said, if you have the correct front spring brackets for your application, I have made many spacers to correct the tire/wheel opening in all body styles. they are made from billet aluminium stock and have ranged from 3/8"-1" in thickness. this greatly improves tire clearance to the front 1/4 opening, as well as the appearance from the side view. but, unless you have adequate front yoke engagement, the driveshaft may have to be lengthened or a different yoke installed. and as have already been mentioned, your spring shackles must point to the rear.
