Yes I did it a couple years ago, didn't use a kit. I just used what I had already. I used 3 2 for my headlites and one for my AC clutch. I did not upgrade my headlites, I think halogens have been in them for years?

I have already by passed my alt gauge and have a #10 wire running from the alt to the starter relay years earlier. Plus the big red wire burned up many years ago also going through the bulkhead connector and that has been replaced with solid wire going through the bulkhead. So I think I addressed all the weak links?


When I got done my headlites still dimmed at low idle! So then I replaced my stock alternator with 100 amp Powermaster and now I'm good at idle. My old alt was toast at idle, I'm pretty sure there was something wrong with it, even though it made good power after the RPMs went up.
