My thought is these are mainly used as a "shim" if you will, to properly align and fill a gap between the intake ports in the head with the ports on the manifold depending on how much material that may have been removed from block decking or cylinder head milling.
They can however provide additional sealing characteristics due to the material composition.

Superformance Products now offers these gaskets made from Interface Solutions NI-2085 material, better than anything available on the market for this application part #6404.

Greg , what was the material you used to make them from ? I have some that are gray paper , came vac packaged 4 to a set on white cardboard , can't remember if these were from you ??




John originally we were making them from Interface N-8094 and have recently upgraded the material to Interface NI-2085 for better long term durability.

The N-8094 is a gray fiber material, kind of standard middle of the road. The NI-2085 is a charcoal/black material and is very flexible.
The gasket is also marked with those numbers.
