I would like to go a touch hotter but wanted to get a idea what came originally as a starting point.

Smallest cam I have ever run in a BB street car I've owned is the 509 so all these sound mild to me.

on a 100% restored 426 wedge i'd be very careful about big cams with those exhaust manifolds. the intake manifold doesn't flow much air, a very small 4bbl, '516 heads that don' flow very good. my choices would be a mopar 272-.455, stock magnum, comp cams 21-304-5, or a summit 6401. any of these cams will need a valve spring change, but any cam change will need new springs.
