It will only go from first to second as I just drove it again over to the shop and could go no faster than 40 with the tach at 3K! I had to stop several times and shut if off, then restart it to get it going again once it stopped going anywhere.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
