There's nothing wrong with a flat tappet setup as long as it's broken in properly using the proper oils/additives. And it's a good idea to run a zinc additive after break-in with every oil change.




Factory cars go 100,000 mi plus with no problems with hyd rollers. I have never heard of a hyd roller failing, solid yes but a hyd roller no.
