Regarding Z-alt, the quote I got from an independent dealer last year was about $10 per quart.
Doug, I buy Valvoline motorcycle oil at Farm and Fleet for 4.69 a quart for 10w-40 or 20w-50 same price. Cheaper if it goes on sale. I didn't know cycle oils had more zinc in them, I buy it cause it has additives for the wet clutch on my air cooled Suzuki dirt bike. Also like has been mentioned, better high heat tolerance that aircooled bikes endure.
