The AMC 401 is gold. People pay top dollar. AMC owners tend to be rabidand would never accept a Mopar engine in an AMX.

Bore spacing is I believe 4.5625, deck height is 9.208, rod length 5.858 bore 4.165 stroke 3.68. The forged crank can be stroked to around 3.8 using chevy smallblock rods and piston size is around chevy 400 smallblock. Some pretty workable combinations come to mind. Also as mentioned above there are now two different aluminum heads to choose from.

It'll cost more because it's not a smallblock chevy, it's more like rodding a 350 olds which is pretty comparable in dimensions.
