the carb needs to be boost preped, nitrophyl floats, some drilling her and there. I'm sure you got the book on that. Not sure what you mean by 1lb of boost. Unless you are under load you shouldn't have any boost. You should be able to set the carb up like any N/A carb as far as idle, and initial set up. I'd think for a 318 72/76 would be enough. What PV are you using and how much vacuum are you pulling. The PV could be opening and dumping fuel.
