Those were my thoughts on the issue. I guess what I'm worried about is the strength of the c-pillar and a-pillar being butt welded, but hot rod guys do that all the time.... Same concept as chopping the top.




But those chopped top cars are on full frames , not unibodies where the roof is part of the structure.




I've seen first hand what happens when the pillars are cut through without a jig. The unibody springs out of shape and getting it back is almost impossible. Get a frame chart and put it on a jig before even starting. Jigs are available for a reasonable price....
