would I be able to do this if i have used silicone (permatex the right stuff to be specific) to seal the side cover? I just remembered that I dont have a gasket on there, and if i have to take the side cover off to reseal it then i think getting the cover back on the forks would be a bear

or is it as easy as just tapping it with it loose and not breaking the seal of the silicone? Im guessing im going to have to drain the fluid too
