With stock heads, I'd stay with stock stroke. With ported heads or the 440source heads, I'd go with the stroker if the budget allows. But what you didn't say was what's all damaged? Did you spin a main or a rod bearing? Did you ever have the crank checked out to see if it will still be fine with just being reground for smaller bearings? If I was you, I would try and salvage as much as possible, and if most is going to be usable still, I would just keep the crank you have and put the money into buying the aftermarket heads. If the crank just needs to be reground, you could get out for a lot cheaper than a stroker kit.

But if you're looking for something to spend some more money on, you will make a bunch more torq with the stroker, especially lower down. Won't make much more hp, but again, available at a lower rpm.
