I have 2 General Electric high beam headlights. Date coded 2-9. Did A12 cars have GE or Westinghouse head lights? WINGNUT

Until my most recent B-body, all of my '67-'70 Bs had General Electric-embossed, wide-fluted, headlamps.
Every one factory-installed. That's 20-some cars since the '80s, various assy plants.
Most recent one, a '69 RR St Louis car, 17,000 miles, has TS low-beams & the "correct" GE high beams.
I assume the low beams are original - car was hardly ever used, and likely rarely with lights on - but allegedly TS & Westinghouse have been seen on a few original cars.

I believe them to be 4001 and 4002 GE wide flutes.

So the 2 head lights I have, (date coded 2-9) could have come from an A12 car? WINGNUT

Sure - or a Slant 6 4-door, or pretty much anything with 4 headlamps.
Stuff like headlamps were probably in large supply, so date codes won't necessarily prove anything, unless dated after the car left the plant, right ?

I asked a SPECIFIC question. Do A12 cars come with GE or Westinghouse headlights. I KNOW every car with 4 head lights can come with either. If someone is restoring an A12 car, I want to
offer my DATE CODED head lights to them.WINGNUT

I'm no expert........but as an A12 owner, when I was looking, I would have been very interested in those headlights. As long as they are the wide flute 4001

Yes they are the wide flute. Above the 2-9 date code it reads SAE 69. WINGNUT

I would think 2-9 is a little early for an A12 ??

That is why I am asking. How can I learn if I don't ask? I have now heard from 2 A12 owners that have original high beams date coded 3-9 WINGNUT

Pete,

They would be fine for an early build A-12.

If you have picture documentation of date codes and part numbers and you are being OE Certified, it goes a long way to help the car score as good as it can.
