Best way to accomplish aligning the pump halves? I didn't come up with much info on a search.

727 does Not need a pump alignment, solid front with bolt on pump support

But 904 does have two pump half's that can be aligned by sight, big hose clamp around the out side works also

I put the 904 pump into the trans housing backwards with no outer seal and with the bolts lose, then tighten the bolts, the trans housing aligns it all up for you. Using an old housing is ideal as you don't have any guts in the trans to get in the way or do it with the original housing before any assembly.
