I purchased a sway bar years ago for my 70 cuda vert, which had a smaller sway bar on it. In any case, I wanted to put the new sway bar on it and clean up the K member, ect. Now I am attempting to put the new sway bar on it and the tabs are too wide and wont fit into the recessed flanges on the original brackets?

do they sell these brackets by themselves that are wider?

Thanks

here is a pic or two of the way it is now, painted and done. You can see the rubber is too wide to fit inside the flange of the sway bar mount, without distorting it?

Bolt it on just like that, won't hurt a thing. It's a Addco bar from the looks of it, I have the same piece on my 74.

My 73-76 A-body K-frame has the same setup. I put in aluminum spacers. The poly bushing setup brings the sway bar up a little if you compare the centerline to and original sway bar bushing setup.

This was sort of tacky. But worked. You should be able to make a more kosher setup.

looks like just a little trim on the sides of the bushing bracket and it will bolt right in...

Well you could do what I did when I upgraded my 71' Challenger R/T suspension. I ran into the same problem, so I simply removed the mounting brackets from the K-frame(the ones you have circled in your pic),turned them over so the flat surface was now the mounting surface for the swaybar isolators, mounted them back on the K-frame with longer bolts,Done! 10 mins. ZERO $!
