I don't know what you mean by "issues" that you may encounter. Maybe an identity crisis?
I did a similar thing. I've always liked the 70-72 Dusters but had trouble finding one cheap. I bought a 74 Duster for $300 and converted it to 1971 specs. I welded in the 71 taillight pockets and added a 71 hood, grille and bumper. I also painted the hood black and added 340 side stripes. This is why I call the car FrankenDuster. It looks very close to the 71 Duster 340.
With your car, I don't see any licensing problems unless you changed the VIN ! Register and insure it as a Duster but call it what you want. The trouble may come when you sell it. It may be a beautiful car when finished, but it will be worth less than a legitimate Demon.
Great idea though.... I have another Duster that I may convert someday. I like the Demon styling. Post some pics soon, huh?

I took a 73 Scamp and put on the 72 Dart front stuffs. Hence the Frankenscamp. Later I ended up using the rest of the Dart the front end came from and completed the current manifestation of my car.

Sky's the limit when it comes to a-body swaps! I still have the car registered as a Plymouth Scamp even though it's all Dodge now. Swapped the dash but the VIN plaque seemed to stay w/the car........magic!

I once put a '68 Dart front clip on a 73 Dart Sport. Everything bolted up like stock. It was an interesting look.

I recently bought a '71 Duster that has
a complete '71 Demon front clip on the car.
It was put together like this back
in the early 80's I was told by the seller.

Still has Duster tail panel/lights, but
I intend to swap to the Demon look out back...
already have nice taillamps/housings
that I found. It was born a /6 car,
now it has a mild built 360/auto..
I'll change it to a 408" stroker motor
hopefully soon and as finances allow!

It seems to me that the Demon has a pretty strong following. I have never heard of anyone converting a Demon into a Dart Sport or Duster.

The only issue you might encounter is that the floor pan is different 73-up for the bucket seat tracks. If you are using the 73-up bucket seats there is no issue, if you want 72 seats then you need to use the later seat tracks. Also, the upper door frames changed in 73, they were no longer part of the door sheet metal and were removable.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

as you can see from the photo it does have bucket seats in it, i got those from one of my donor cars. i'll take a picture of the interior and post it but i gotta warn you... i got alot of chrome in there from my 64' so it might look a little dirty but i assure you its all restored.
