I just bought a few months ago 12 of those discs! NONE of them seem to fit on the 11.75" setup! The hub is just way to big in diameter and rubs on the brake pad! It lacks about 0.2-0.3" on each side! So a total of about 0.4-0.5" in diameter to big!
Raybestos told me that it was always like that, but I can't believe this!
Does anyone got a picture of their 7038R rotor?! I GUESS it was forgotten to machine the hub 0.2-0.3" on a latte! The 7032R (10.97") rotor I got from raybestos is turned down at the hub on the latte!
The distance I measured on blue should be more like 2.3" as on another disc I got that fits well!

Are you using the correct caliper bracket ??? The bracket for the 11.75 rotor is different than the one for the 10.87 rotor.

I've got a number of 5307 rotors. All of various castings and design.
Most are made in China and only one in the US.
The US-made rotor looks best in casting and finish.

Haven't all of them but most are cast slightly of center aswell. The machining is centered though, but I'm sure this will cause vibrations.

That would be my guess too, they can't be that far off.

I have Wagner rotors. The measurement from hub to edge of rotor is 2.2"

don't worry, I know the difference between 10.97" and 11.75"! Those are 100% 11.75" brackets!
The wagners I got also have around 2.2" and not 2.05" as those ones!
The question is here: did Raybestos forgot to turn the hub down as on the 7032R (10.97") I got from Raybestos or is the cast form just too big? Because the Wagners I got are not turned down, they are pure cast surface on the hub, but still much smaller in diameter so they fit fine!

I'm inclined to agree. I bought some Raybestos Professional Grade drums at the end of 2004, and they were Canadian-made. Earlier this year, I bought two more and these were Chinese-made. They were so out of round that I ended up sending them back. How can something that has been machined be out of round?!?!?! Very disappointing.

the rotors I got now are made in China, not sure what they were before!

Nobody got only 1 picture of the hub to see if it's turned down on a latte or not!

I measured the 7038R rotor against the other unknown brand (wagner maybe?) and if I would turn down the 7038R so it would fit very well, I would have 0.45" left of material on the hub on the thinnest spot. The (wagner?) rotor is only 0.31" thick, this one fits very well but is much thinner.
So I guess 0.45" should be more than enough after turning down?!

All of the ones I've ever picked up have an "as cast" hub section. Its never been machined.

Since you got 12 of these...pads are cheap. Clearance the pads or return them. Bummer but I bet you got a good price on them or else you would not have bought 12?

I think you missed something. Look at his info again. Do YOU want to pay international shipping on a dozen brake rotors? I bet he bought in bulk so he and his friends could get brake rotors and have some spares should something happen to them. You can rest assured that obsolete Mopar parts sell for a premium (when you can find them) in Europe. His stuff is shipped to a broker (like OzHemi) then stuffed into a container for the ride across the Atlantic.

I ordered the same Raybestos part number from Rock Auto. In fact, I posted it here so others could get in on the discount.
I have not used them but I pulled them off the shelf today to take some pics. This is what I received:

Rotor #1:

Rotor #2:

wait.... Something's not right...

See the differences?

The rotor marked "Century" does not state a country of origin. Both boxes were from Raybestos and had LOTS of shelf wear.

thanks for the pictures Kevin!!!

Kevin got it right, I buy them like that so shipping costs less with the cargo to Switzerland!
Now Rockauto is telling me to send them back and that they won't pay more than a few $ for return shipping! They think I can send them 200lbs of JUNK back for free?! What a service...

Anyway, the Century you got there Kevin is as much as I know a Wagner disc. Weird that it's in a Raybestos box, ont he other hand, I already got 1977 Cadillac disc in a 11.75" box! Saw it 10'000miles later here!
But Wagner # BD60474 is as much as I know this Century part.

NOW, the BIG difference I see here:
My discs from Raybestos that I ordered around december/january were full price and are MADE IN CHINA! It's written on the box, not on the disc! But this big MADE IN CANADA is NOT written on it!
So those morrons maybe started to produce them in China and got the molding wrong and made way to big hubs and still are claiming via Rockauto that they didn't change anything and it was always like that!
Now look at the picture of my 7038R rearside!

I am still asking myself if I can't turn them down on a latte! The hub seems to be MUCH thicker than the Wagner part I got! I measure 0.87" and the Wagner disc got much less! So I am asking myself if the new China rotors weren't supposed to be turned down and they just forgot it?!

You didn't expect them to charge less just because they outsourced them to China did you ? They outsourced to make a bigger profit.

The last set of Wagner rotors I bought for my Ram 2500 pickup were made in China but still priced like the prior units made on the North American continent ..I would machine them so they fit or grind down the pads, so much for the cheap deal but it will be cheaper than sending them back.

Don't measure only the inside. The inner surface can be longer or shorter than the outer surface.
Measure from the outside of the rotor to the inside wall of the hub.
Compare that to the distance from the outside of the rotor to the outside of the hub. That will give you the distance you have to play with. I hope you can turn them down. It's a quick and easy fix. Much cheaper than international shipping too.

Price was as usual!

Kevin - I did that last time, just yesterday I didn't have the caliper with me. But the Wagner rotor got much less material on the hub than the 7038R I got! I am still worried to turn them down because of stability. If a rotor like that brakes then...!
How thick is your hub Kevin on your MADE in CANADA 7038R if you measure like that?
Thank you
