I am preparing to assemble the rest of my engine and need help selecting a timing chain. On Rollmaster's website there are a number of different size timing chains you can purchase for big blocks that have been line honed. My motor has been line honed, however, I am uncertain as to how to determine what size timing chain I need to purchase, whether it be undersized or not. I purchased this shortblock from someone who had it professionally assembled. Is ther any way of determining what is needed beforehand without wasting money on more than one chain.

Thanks

Are there any #s on your existing timing set that could be used to ID the size that's on it now?

No. I aquired this short block with no chain set.

you could measure the distance between the crank center line and the cam center line to determine whether or not you need a undersize set

I think the Pro Gear set is better. I use no 6430-5 TIMING CHAIN SET, UNDERSIZE -.005 I get mine from Hughes.
