I had posted a while ago about excessive amperage killing my fuel pump relay. Well, it was a beautiful day and I was off, so I dug into the car to check the wiring. The first thing I find is I screwed up. BIG time....

I had added a sub-harness for my electric trunk release, third brake light, and fuel pump. I had wrapped the fuel pump wires inside a quality fabric tape and routed it to the pump. I did the same for the other wires. What I did was I grouped the 14G wires for my fuel pump for my TRUNK release, and wired my pump with 16G wire! No wonder it was cooking.

So I rewired the pump with some 10G. Here you can see the difference between the gauges:


Just goes to show. Best laid plans....
