Dads426 pro stock D Joined: May 2007 Posts: 1,443 Maryland	Alot of gauge clusters have a 5 volt regulator in back of the dash panel. It is a thermal type so the contacts or heater can go bad. Looks like about 1/3 of a 9v battery with the same snap connections on it and a bracket to secure it in place. If the regulator isn't getting power, check the fuses & harness. If the gauges aren't getting voltage check the output from the regulator (it pulses 12 VDC on and off to achieve 5 VDC). If so it isn't your IVR (instrument voltage regulator) since the Ammeter doesn't use it. Bad grounding is my guess If the ammeter works then it's probably the IVR. They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.
