Looking at purchasing a carb spacer to help heat soak to the carb. I have used phenolic spacers in the past with good success. While shopping for a new one, I see that Edelbrock sells a wood fiber laminate piece. In the Summit description, Edelbrock claims it is ideal for reducing heat transfer. I have read here on Moparts that some members use wood carb spacers with good success. Is the wood fiber laminate combarable to a real wood piece and better than the phenolic or is it just a wannabe woody Thanks in advance.

The wood laminate ones are some kind of impregnated wood. They change color over time as the absorb some of the fuel, but are great to port, and hold up real well, and can be painted to match engine color. I like them. Had all three, and wood and the phenolics are the best two in my mind.
