What diameter springs you running? 1.625 and larger hits, I have been told... I run Jesel stuff.

We ended up running lash caps on my 440-1 heads w/Jesel 1.7 rockers, but not for rocker clearance, it was to correct the rocker tip to valve geometery. This was done even after we milled the steel jesel rocker stands a bit... We could have miled the heads a bit more, but then you lose even more thread engagement.
Lash caps were the best fix...

What ratio rockers did you order?
Is this the single shaft system or individual shafts for each rocker pair?
They are 1.6 T&D single shaft and the springs are 1.55 the rockers would touch but i put caps on them it's close but it will work and i order my push rods today i got a set of smith Bros .

I have 1.55 because that's what i have read but it was not the spring size but you could not run any thing bigger i think it was the retainer the way they are made but i could be wrong but the caps work.

What spring pressure are you running? I run 805 over the nose on mine. They said it would be safe to mill them the amount that I did at that pressure. Not arguing with you, i just prefer not to run the caps because its just one more thing that can go wrong.

last year i had about 235 lbs pressure i had a 640 int 640 exh roller NOS cam and had a 150 shot on it i broke one just starting the car and i know three guy that broke them to and they went to jesel rockers and i know one guy he has run them for years and has not broke one .

 Thank you very much, It fun to drive and so easy I think my 77yr old lady neighbor could drive it. She probably would to. I like dusters, I had a 70 340 duster in 1971-1973. This 68 is actually a sport satellite. Listen to this Herb McCandless' brother in law use to own it. Herb actually did the sheetmetal work in trunk and the tubs. He did a great job. It has a narrowed 60 diff 4 link. I recently changed the inspection cover and around the flat furface behind the cover it was stamped McCandless along with some numbers. Is that neat? They raced a 383 727 in footbrake. Where it Tenn are you.

I am in CROSSVILLE i am 16 miles from I-40 DRAG strip and 32 miles from Buffalo Valley Drag strip .
