Ok...What would have been the Standard Tire Size on a 1970 Road Runner? Did engine affect tire sixe? ie: Hemi or six pack cars different from 383 cars?

I have a broadcast sheet for a customer's V code runner. It lists T87 which is F70X14's which makes perfect sense. However... What would the options be as far as tire size and rim combination? I assume an 15 X 7 ralley would come with a G60 X 15 tire, correct? Question is: Could you have got a plain steel wheel/dog dish cap in a 15" size? and would that come with a G60 tire? I know the questions sound odd, but I met with a potential new customer today who showed me VERY EARLY original pictures of his 70 V code Runner. Even know he's not the original owner, the original owner swears it had 15" rims.... Here's the kicker...In the pictures, the car has painted EV2 rims, dog dish caps BUT it has the dual pin stripe tires which to my understanding ONLY came in a 78 series tire Can you see my confusion? There's no build sheet for his car.

F70-15 , G60 wasn't available on the B body or any mopar I can think of. . I think ... , Mopar was good about putting the same size front and rear , except for the T/A challenger and AAR Cuda , so you wouldn't se a G60 on the front of anything .

I'm just reading that myself in Galen's book ...My 71 V code Charger came with G's, U86, but it looks like F's in 1970 ? The owner of the GTX in my garage told me to put G's on it...I thought that's what it came with...Now I'm really corn-fused

STD on a '70 Road Runner Steel body-colored wheels (14x6") w/T86 F70-14 "white stripe" Goodyear Polyglas tires Optional tires: T87 F70-14 "rwl" Goodyear Polyglas tires N/CU84 F60-15 "rwl" Goodyear Polyglas GT tires $63.25 Optional wheels: a couple black streel wheels (14x6") w/"full wheel covers" W11 - $21.30 & W15 "wire" - $64.10 W21 "rallye wheels" in either 14x5-1/2" or 15x7" $43.10 W23 "road wheels" in 14x5-1/2" $86.15 I've never seen the "twin stripe" 78 series tires on a b'cast sheet for a "badged" musclecar.

So could a person have ordered 15" steelies ?
NO.
If you ordered the F60-15 tires & did NOT order "rallye wheels" you would've recieved the 15x7" "xxxx 450" wheels painted body-color.

Gotcha So you didn't order the Steelies by size, you ordered the tires by size...
My white Cuda was ordered with 450's and came with E60's all around.
I think you are contradicting yourself Alan. Your white Cuda was a 340 and was ordered with 15 inch tires which would have been E-60's, and because rallye wheels were not ordered, it would have come with those tires on the 450's, not ordered with 450's. If you thought you were confused before Alan, you are likely now as confused as a blind qu&&r at a weiner roast.
G-60-15's were an available option on all 4 corners on 71-72 B-bodies and perhaps 73? Years ago I used to always look in and many times found a G-60-15 on a 450 black steel wheel in 71-2 B-body cars in yards.

Believe it or not....The owner of this potenial new car I will be doing was able to contact the original owner today and the original owner said he had the dealership install the white wall tires with the dual pin stripes before he picked up the car because he thought they looked "cooler" His family and that of the dealership were good friends so the PolyGlas white lettered tires were swapped out before the car even left the lot... Talk about confusing the restoration guys 40 years later Ggeezz The original owner couldn't believe that anybody would know or care about the difference 40 years after the fact
