What size hole is recommended in a lifter bushing to pushrod oil jesel rockers? I don't want to starve the top end but also don't want to push too much oil up top. Thanks in advance. Brian W.

We drill the bushings with a 3/16" drill and have 0.040" restrictors built into the push rods.

We drill a .060 hole in the bushing and use a .020 restricter hole in the pushrod.

What he said....then control the oil with the pushrod restrictors. Don't know why any size between 1/16 and 1/8 would not work just fine either since I don't know of anyone running larger than .050 restrictors in their push rods. Might be wrong, but I would say most are between .025 and .040.

Hole size shouldn't matter too much, just make sure that you put it in the correct location. If you do it correctly, the lifter clearance is used as the flow restriction and you don't need to pay extra to have restrictors inside the pushrods.

I put two .025" holes in the bushing and it is way more than enough. My pushrods have a .050 hole in them.

Good Luck
